PEACE OF MIND FOR TWO WHEELS AS WELL AS FOUR

PEACE OF MIND FOR TWO WHEELS AS WELL AS FOUR
Next to the American Cowboy, perhaps those individuals who are the freest in this nation are motorcycle riders.  Cooled by a self-imposed breeze, they fare equally well on interstates and back roads alike.  Their brush with death every time they mount up and ride off creates a sense of thrill and excitement non-riders seldom, if ever, experience.  But, such exhilaration doesn’t come without a price.  And, typically, that price comes in the form of insurance premiums.

“The thing is,” Jim Bivona, director of BIVONA INSURANCE GROUP, and insurance brokerage firm in Glendale, Arizona, pointed out, “whether riders want to admit it or not, riding a motorcycle is more dangerous than riding in a car, as that horrible accident back in 2011 will attest to.”

Bivona was alluding to the crash on March 25, 2011 when a large dump truck plowed into eight motorcycles stopped at a red light.  Four riders died within twenty-four hours, and the crash was so horrific that the American Motorcycle Assoc. publicly announced its condolences.  Undaunted by such stories, motorcycle enthusiasts still seek the thrill, and, of course, still seek motorcycle insurance!

There are a number of questions that new riders have regarding motorcycle insurance in Arizona, including:

  • What is different about insuring a motorcycle than a car?
  • How much insurance should I carry?
  • Are there any discounts available?

Valid questions all, but probably the most often thoughtif not asked–question is, “how can I lower my motorcycle insurance rates?”   Well, there are multiple ways, as there are several factors that affect the cost of motorcycle insurance.  Following are a few examples of these factors:

  • Age
  • Your Driving/Riding Record
  • How long you have been riding
  • How “flashy” and “speedy” your bike is

If you already have insurance, you may want to consult with your agent and see if there are any ways you
can reduce your insurance premiums. Or, if you prefer, you can contact Jim Bivona at 623-256-1000 and he and his staff will be happy to review your policy and advise you whether or not you qualify for a reduction in your rates, and that you are adequately covered to protect both you, your bike, and your assets.
